Subject: Thanks for the share.
I love Tod Slaughter, watched all his films as a kid in the 70's, he scared the hell out of me, just as much as Chris Lee and the Hammer films.
I wish all of his films were here to watch and download, I definitely would grab them.

Subject: A great, old-style crime melodrama
I've never seen any of Slaughter's work, before, but if this is an example, more of it needs to be brought here. Yes, it looks backward stylistically; but it's well acted, photographed, and scripted. It definitely deserves to be downloaded, seen, and stored on the hard drive.

Subject: Watch a REAL maniac
This guy is a fiend of the nth degree and a really good old flick. This character by Slaughter just never knows when to stop till he stops himself. It makes me wonder if it's based on a real person as well because England was full of these murderers in those days, but so was every nation and still are..If you like a good killer thriller this one will thrill.

Subject: Tod's Best
In my humble opinion this is Tod's best movie.

Subject: Absolutely marvellous
I didn´t know Tod Slaughter until now but I will never forget him. What a great villain he is! Very impressive. So is in another way the second villain of this film Hay Petrie, partner in Tod´s plans and blackmailer.

As always, the villains are more impressive than the heros and heroines, but they are good enough too.

The film is loosely based on "The Woman in White" by Wilkie Collins, let us say, a very condensed summary with many changes. Of course, it is not an adequate adaptation of the literary source but this doesn´t matter, because it surely was not intended to be.

Highly recommended!!!
